If the series is set almost exclusively in the small town of Maine that gives it the title, the plot develops over several time levels. It begins precisely in 1991 with the discovery by Sheriff Alan Pangborn (so far the only "real" Kinghian character, played here by Scott Glenn) of a colored boy named Henry Matthew Deaver, but soon we move on to 2018 , with the suicide of the director of Shawshank prison, Dale Lacy (the former Locke of Lost, Terry O'Quinn), in the same place where 27 years earlier there had been a mysterious "accident".....
Se la serie è ambientata quasi esclusivamente nella cittadina del Maine che le dà il titolo, la trama si sviluppa su più livelli temporali. Si comincia appunto nel 1991 con il ritrovamento da parte dello sceriffo Alan Pangborn (finora l'unico "vero" personaggio kinghiano, qui interpretato da Scott Glenn) di un bambino di colore di nome Henry Matthew Deaver, ma ben presto ci si sposta al 2018, con il suicidio del direttore del carcere di Shawshank, Dale Lacy (l'ex Locke di Lost, Terry O'Quinn), proprio nello stesso luogo in cui 27 anni prima c'era stato un misterioso "incidente".....
