In a dystopian future, humanity was decimated by an epidemic caused by a virus, so much so that no more than 2 million people survived on the entire planet. These have become blind (even on a genetic level) and in the space of a few centuries the Earth is now populated by blind people, returned to live in a primitive and tribal state. One day (after about 500 years) a man, Jerlamarel, appears with the ability to see. But sight is considered a heresy and anyone who has the gift of sight or even just talks about it is considered a heretic and killed by the witch hunters led by Tamacti Jun. One day Baba Voss, a tribal chief, rescues a pregnant woman, Maghra, and decides to marry her and raise her children as her own. Twins are born, biological children of Jerlamarel, who are able to see, but the cruel Queen Kane decides they must die. Thus begins a struggle for survival between the queen and Baba Voss, who protects her family.

Questi sono diventati ciechi (anche a livello genetico) e nell'arco di qualche secolo la Terra è ormai popolata da soli non vedenti, tornati a vivere in uno stato primitivo e tribale. Un giorno (dopo circa 500 anni) compare un uomo, Jerlamarel, con la capacità di vedere. Ma la vista è considerata un'eresia e chiunque abbia il dono della vista o anche semplicemente ne parli è considerato un eretico e ucciso dai cacciatori di streghe comandati da Tamacti Jun. Un giorno Baba Voss, un capo tribù, soccorre una donna incinta, Maghra, e decide di sposarla e crescere i figli come suoi. Nascono due gemelli, figli biologici di Jerlamarel, che sono in grado di vedere, ma la crudele regina Kane decide che devono morire. Inizia così una lotta per la sopravvivenza tra la regina e Baba Voss, che protegge la sua famiglia.
