In the late 1980s, John Ibrahim, a Lebanese immigrant to Sydney, and his brother Sam are entranced by the lights of Kings Cross and the crime in the area. John opens a nightclub and begins to have success in the field. However, when the market begins to falter, the Ibrahim brothers find themselves facing Ezra Shipman, the most powerful and feared man in the city.
