The CIA has a department that trains and manages covert operatives on long-term missions who live undercover for years, in order to identify and recruit intelligence sources. One of them, codenamed Martian, is called away on short notice but has difficulty abandoning his latest false identity, especially when, upon returning to London, he finds himself reunited with his lover, Samia Zahir, whom he had to abandon to return to headquarters.
