While on a mission in Syria as a UN soldier, Edward Horniman unexpectedly inherits an estate of 15,000 acres (6,000 hectares) and the title of Duke of Halstead, after the death of his father of whom he is actually the second son. He learns that the property has become part of a criminal, marijuana-growing empire run by Susie Glass. He will have to survive in a world full of strange and dangerous characters, trying to protect his property and his bizarre relatives.
