American flight attendant Cassandra "Cassie" Bowden is a reckless alcoholic who drinks on flights and spends her free time with strangers, including her passengers. When she wakes up in a hotel room with a hangover from the night before her, she discovers the man's corpse, who was on her last flight close to her, with his throat torn. Fearing she will have to call the police, she cleans up the crime scene, and joins the other crew heading to the airport. Arriving in New York, FBI agents question her about the stop in Bangkok. Still unable to reconstruct the previous night and suffering from intermittent flashbacks / hallucinations, she begins to wonder who the killer might be.
